VS1 Telephone System

Online Quote Request

The Picazo VS1 business telephone system is a server-based expandable PBX. The base system has two main components — the Picazo Voice Server, and the Picazo Port Expansion Units Model 200, Model 205, and Model 250 — each providing 16 ports. Additional PEUs can be added in 16 port increments enabling the system to expand to 192 ports, depending upon the type of station sets used with the Picazo VS1 phone system.

The latest Voice Server Software version 2.10 supports a host of new features as well as support for Connect98™ with PCOM, the Picazo Port Expansion Unit Model 250 (PEU250) and the Picazo Dry Contact Unit Model 100 (DCU100).

The Picazo VS1 phone system provides four built-in voice channels for Voice Mail and Automated Attendants, and is expandable to a maximum of 12 channels. In addition, the base system provides storage space for up to 24 hours of Voice Mail.

Twenty Automated Attendants are included with the Picazo VS1 phone system. Each contains routing options for day, night, weekend and other configurations. Callers pick from a menu of options to call a specific station, group or department; access a company directory with Dial by Name options; leave messages in individual or group voice mail; reach an operator; select prerecorded informational messages; or return to the main greeting and choose new routing options.

Also included with the Picazo VS1 phone system are six external device contacts including two zone pager outputs for overhead paging systems, two music inputs for music on-hold or promotions on-hold, and two dry contact relays to attach electronic door locks, buzzers or sirens.

The Picazo VS1 phone system is controlled by software programming rather than physical connections and hardware add-ons. Automated Attendants and Voice Mail are fully-integrated, without the need for a physical interface.

VS1 Software 2.10 Features

Forced Account Codes

The system can be configured to require a caller to enter an account code whenever they place an outside call.

Support for single-line phones connected with Connect98™

The following occurs whether or not Connect98 or the PC is running:

Support for Connect98 with PCOM

If the station is configured as a "Connect w/PCOM" port type, a dial tone is always presented to the user when the phone is off-hook and there is no connection. If the station is configured as a "Connect w/CTIM" port type, a dial tone is presented to the user ONLY when Connect98 or the PC is NOT running. This is to prevent a user wearing a headset with a CTIM™ or PC Card from hearing a constant dial tone when not connected to a call. If Connect98 or the PC is NOT running, only one line is available for making or receiving calls.

E911 Standard Support

Users can dial "911" or "9,911" to place an emergency call. If all CO ports are busy, an emergency call will disconnect a non-emergency call to expedite the connection. The CO auto-disconnect can be disabled in "System Config 1". If all CO ports are busy with emergency calls, no special action is taken. If a user is defined without access to a line pool, they are given access to the "<Default>" line pool to place an emergency call for the duration of that call.

Executive Monitoring tones can be disabled with a special System Activation Key

Customers who wish to use this feature must acquire a special key from Picazo Technical Support at 1-900-464-3274 during normal business hours (8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday.) To return the system to standard functionality, a standard key must be entered during configuration and the system restarted.

New ACD Queue Priority Mode Options

The ACD Queue Priority Mode can be configured via the ACD window in the VS1 Configuration program. The following selections are available:

The ACD queue priority modes are separate from agent priority. Agent priority is dealt with within EACH queue and does not cross queue boundaries regardless of priority mode setting. Refer to the ICO manual for detailed procedures.

Support for PEU250 and DCU100

Version 2.9 supports both the new PEU250 and DCU100.

The PEU250 features 16 universal ports with built-in Caller ID on each port and LED indicators for every port. The ports on the PEU250 are easily configured as a CO line or station port via push buttons featured on the face of the unit – no more opening the box. When used with VS1 version 2.7.5 or prior, only the first eight ports can be configured as CO lines, the remaining eight ports must be configured as station lines. The built-in cut-over box provides power failure transfer for four CO lines, mapping ports 1-4 to 5-8. In the event of a power failure, each station connected to the cut-over box becomes a direct outside line for incoming and outgoing calls.

Connected to a PEU250, the DCU100 provides overhead speaker paging and music on-hold capabilities.
