Comdial Phone Systems

Comdial VVP
Small Office and Versatile Voice Processing (VVP)

Comdial's voice mail systems, Small Office and VVP feature the latest in communications technology. They are tightly integrated with Comdial's Impact systems, so you can maximize your telecom investment. For any size business, Comdial's message-processing products offer state-of-the-art features at an affordable price.

In addition to an Automated Attendant feature, Small Office and VVP allow users to personalize their mailboxes with Custom Greetings. Join these and the rest of the standard features with optional capabilities like Advanced Fax Features, Immediate Customer Response, and Visual Call Manager, and you have a system of unmatched performance.

Impact Voice Mail is built on the concept of boxes, each of which performs a different function. Each user can have a personal mailbox in which the system stores messages. Depending on how your system is configured, you may have a combination of routing, Q&A, ACD, group, directory, ICR, or fax boxes.

Routing Boxes are used for directing calls to other mailboxes based on the responses of the caller.

Q & A Boxes contain up to ten questions for the caller, and the responses can be stored in either voice or numeric form for later retrieval.

Fax Boxes come in two varieties: fax mail and fax-on-demand. A fax mailbox stores incoming fax messages instead of voice messages. A fax-on-demand mailbox allows the caller to select from a list of stored faxes that the system will then transmit to them.

An ACD Box queues calls for a programmed extension(s). The system can play distinct messages for each queue.

Group Boxes send the same message to many users simultaneously.

The Directory Box allows callers to listen to a list of users on the system and select the one they want to talk to.

ICR Boxes are used for gathering information (in the form of dialed digits) and then looking for a matching database entry. When a match is found, the entry can be spoken to the caller using recorded words and phrases.

Fax Mail Callers can send a fax to your personal box which you can then retrieve at your convenience. You can also call into the system when you are out of the office and receive your faxes at a remote machine.

Fax-On-Demand enables you to fax documents to your system and give each a name. Callers can then select a document for transmission to their own fax number.

ICR (Immediate Customer Response) has the system ask the caller a series of questions to which the caller responds by touch tones. The system can then give relevant information to the caller by querying databases, locating files, etc.

Talking Classifieds uses a gateway box whereby the system can ask the caller a series of up to six questions, each of which is answered with a digit. The system will then match the caller's responses with a corresponding listing box that contains the appropriate relevant information.

Outbound Telemarketing allows you to program the system to make outgoing calls from a list of phone numbers. When one of these calls is answered, the call is immediately transferred to a designated extension.

VCM (Visual Call Manager) gives you point-and-click access to messages on your Windows PC. There are two versions of VCM: network and PCIU. With the network version of VCM*, the voice mail system is connected to a LAN. Users are net clients. You can receive voice and fax messages, and you can also send faxes from your PC. With the PCIU version, the Personal Computer Interface Unit (a TAPI device) is plugged into your Comdial digital telephone. The PCIU is connected to your PC with a cable. You have point-and-click access to your voice messages from your PC, and access to fax messages will be added in a future release.
