2.4 GHz GigaRange

2.4 GHzIn 1998, Panasonic brought you the world's first 2.4 Gigahertz cordless phone. It went farther and sounded clearer than any of their other cordless phones. In 1999, Panasonic has made it tough enough to go where others fear to tread. Introducing GigaRange® Extreme phones. Panasonic's toughest and longest distance cordless phones ever.

Rugged Construction
"Extreme" innovations in Panasonic's new 2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme SST cordless telephones have made them tough and rugged. In addition to being shock-resistant, a rubberized trim renders these phones splash-resistant (except for model KX-TG2400B). They're designed to stand up to everyday wear and tear. Their tough design also helps resist damage caused by occasional dropping and protects against accidental splashes*. Unique twin band transmission, coupled with rugged design, allows you to take your conversations outdoors and to the extreme!

Hands-Free Capability
A 2.5mm headset jack and belt clip are included for hands-free operation. With an optional headset connected to this phone, you're free to engage in activities that require the use of two hands. And when you're not using your 2.4 GHz phone, its relatively small design enables you to simply slip it into your pocket.

Excellent Sound Quality
Naturally, you'll get great sound quality from Panasonic's 900 MHz GigaRange SST cordless phones. But for even better sound quality, check out the 2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme SST phones with twin band (true duplex) transmission. This feature not only enhances performance range (see chart above), but also provides outstanding sound quality by using 2.4 GHz on the base, and 900 MHz on the handset. Two antennas on the base -- one to send, one to receive -- ensure smooth, 2-way conversations, virtually eliminating the echo and delay effects found in other cordless phones. Panasonic has also developed proprietary circuitry that resists interference from devices that operate on the same 2.4 GHz frequency (such as microwave ovens). This means that you'll enjoy the longest ranges and clearest conversations ever, with excellent sound quality and virtually no echo.

Twin-Band Transmission For Even Further Range
Panasonic's 2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme SST cordless phones have extended range, thanks to the innovation of twin band (true duplex) transmission design. While conventional phones transmit and receive signals within the same band (which can result in interference between these signals), 2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme SST cordless phones employ the use of two different frequencies: 2.4 GHz on the base, and 900 MHz on the handset. This unique dual band design means that your signals won't interfere with each other and it allows for a dramatic increase in range**, even further than that of 900 MHz GigaRange SST phones. A unique proprietary circuitry design also helps these phones resist interference from other devices that share similar bands, like microwave ovens.

SST TechnologySST Technology For Extended Range
Panasonic 2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme cordless phones utilize Spread Spectrum technology (SST) in both the 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz bands. SST technology brings an important benefit to the user: enhanced range. Cordless phones with SST have greater output power than regular cordless phones because they transmit over the entire bandwidth, constantly changing frequency. This increased power dramatically boosts range.

SST Technology For Digital Security
SST
, the technology that guards military secrets, can now guard yours. While you may not be harboring any "Top Secrets," there's plenty of information you don't want leaked out, such as your credit card number or bank account number. That's why Panasonic 2.4 GHz GigaRange phones have SST -- Digital Spread Spectrum Technology. Originally developed 50 years ago for secure military communications, SST continually changes frequencies -- making eavesdropping virtually impossible.

7-Hour Battery Charging
All the GigaRange phones are equipped with a special Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery, which has twice the capacity of a standard Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) battery. Ideal for high-powered cordless phones, NiMH batteries can be fully recharged in just 7 hours. Many other phones require your battery to charge at least overnight.

Americom Inc. has the full line of GigaRange cordless phones, starting with the super sophisticated KX-TG2570. It gives you all the advantages of a GigaRange phone with a "giga"-range of features, including a digital answering machine and a Digital Duplex speakerphone. The KX-TG2560 features a digital duplex speakerphone with dual keypads. The KX-TG2550 combines power with powerhouse options like Caller ID on Call Waiting, while the KX-TG2500 and KX-TG2400 give you incredible performance as well as remarkable value.

*Performance may vary according to location and atmospheric conditions; the handsets are designed to stand up to accidental splashes and dropping and are not to be fully immersed or held under running water.

**2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme SST cordless phones offer the most sophisticated design and the highest performance of any cordless phone Panasonic has ever introduced. Cordless phone quality can be measured in terms of sound quality (transmit and receive), sound level, background noise, sidetone/echo, open field transmission range and indoor range. In almost every area, the 2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme SST cordless phones are better than previous models and those of many of Panasonic's competitors (as of October 1, 1998). It is possible that occasionally, in a closed-building environment, a 2.4 GHz GigaRange Extreme SST cordless phone might not offer better range than a 900 MHz GigaRange SST or other 900 MHz SST cordless phones due to the type of building construction, electrical infrastructure, and other factors that can affect range performance. Of course, even in this type of situation, its outstanding sound quality and low background noise still make it the clear choice in a cordless phone.
